Design in America during the 1950s started equipping products with new functions that offered a high degree of comfort. This comfort became a nonchalant understatement; the well-known American way of life. The shape of these products – and what they “did” – was just as exciting and surprising as going to the latest movie. The two-slice toaster from the Eon kitchen appliance series likewise surprises with its pleasing functionality, successfully merged into its design. The matt surface of the TT900 with its quality high-grade steel look emphasises the elegant lines of the toaster. One of the most innovative features is the “soft-lift” function: using a hydraulic system, the slices of toast are lifted up and down automatically. Another aspect of comfort is displayed in the high-quality design of the bun rack with its mobile characteristics: it can also serve as a toast holder on the breakfast table. This, together with the “soft-lift” functionality, gives the TT900 two-slice toaster a slight touch of entertainment that merges with the dynamics of consistent design perceptible down to the smallest details.
