Finishing touch
Fisher & Paykel’s new Iridium stainless steel range of appliances offers the benefits of brushed stainless steel, together with fresh visual appeal. Here, Iridium’s soft frost-like finish complements a Titan oven and cooktop and an Inox refrigerator.

Shining strengths
Silver service
Fisher & Paykel’s new Iridium range of stainless steel appliances complement the neutral coloured cabinetry, sandblasted glass and aluminium accents found in this kitchen. The matt Iridium finish has a softer appearance that provides an alternative to traditional stainless steel surfaces. Durable and hard-wearing, Iridium is resistant to smudges and fingermarks. Above: The kitchen features a double DishDrawer, a single Astro single oven and a Titan gas cooktop, all in Iridium.
An Astro single oven with soft-touch controls allows versatile cooking in this kitchen by Fyfe Kitchens. The oven’s sculpted lines complement the cabinetry’s modular style. Right: Featuring a simple, structured look, the Titan gas cooktop in Iridium offers a range of functions. Sensitive temperature controls that allow you to simmer sauces at very low heats is just one feature. Judith Marks
Country comfort
Taking its cue from the rugged surrounding landscape, this traditional style kitchen inspires feelings of warmth, comfort and security. The ceramic-tiled splashback, oversized rangehood and hob fitted on a timber stand create a homely hearth with modern convenience.
Wall features such as the custom-made plate rack free up the bench space, while two small paintings of fruit provide elegant signposts for the culinary oils below. Jane Low

Seen in all the right places
Concealing appliances behind cabinetry is one of the keys to creating a seamless looking kitchen. The DishDrawer from Fisher & Paykel can be installed as a single or double unit, and can be fully integrated so that it resembles one of the drawers in the cabinetry.
Fisher & Paykel also offers an integration kit to suit various models in its range of refrigerators. In this kitchen, the integration kit was a cost-effective, easy way to ensure the refrigerator did not detract from the streamlined look of the space. Fisher & Paykel
Seriously appealing
In this kitchen designed for serious cooking, the appliances are commercial grade. But while large ovens, double hobs and a custom-made extractor fan enable catering for large groups, concession has been made to aesthetic appeal. For example, the benchtops are granite rather than the stainless steel normally found in professional kitchens. Flowers by Vida Flore.

Around the block
This kitchen, by Joan DesCombes, had to be practical and dramatic. A central butcher’s block contributes to both aims, with its circular form contrasting the overall linear design.

The double island is low enough to allow maximum views of the back garden and fish pond – an important part of the owners’ requirements. Joan DesCombes CKD
